April 8th, and 9th, 2011 The Savage Highlands will be hosting an all around campout (meaning not just amtgard, bring your hackey sacks).
It's hot in the day and still pretty cold at night. So if you come bring your gear. Bring a couple of layers and make sure to bring a flashlight.
What you pack in you pack out. There are no facilities(but there is an Allsups right up the road)
It is to be held at Cedar Creek Forest Access. (at the end of the road by the forest service station in town.) Ruidoso, NM.
WE WOULD LOVE ANYONE TO COME BUT PLEASE BE MINDFUL OF OUR FORESTS.

SKBC is Amtgard's training camp, with classes ranging from basic fighting techniques to advanced theory courses. Focus is on foam fighting of all types, learning, and intense ditching. No class battlegames, rather the day is split up into class periods, with students spending time with experienced fighters who instruct them.

From Springfield MO :
Take Hwy 65 south to US-60 exit towords Cabool
In 6.6 miles turn Right on MO-125 South
Continue on MO 125 South through Chadwick to Forest Road 533 where you will find the entrance to Bar-K Wrangler Camp on the left.
South of Springfield MO:
Head North on US-65 to US-65 Business/MO F exit toword South St./Sparta
Turn Right at US-65BUS N
Continue on to MO-14 E/W South St.
Follow MO-14 E to MO-125 S
Continue on MO 125 South through Chadwick to Forest Road 533 where you will find the entrance to Bar-K Wrangler Camp on the left.

The Kingdoms pull together and put out Kingdom-wide calls for their lands to support the local food bank/pantry all on the same weekend. September 18-19th is the weekend thats been established for 2010.

Sword Knight Boot Camp is an event run specifically to teach the details of foam sword fighting. It is sponsored by a committee of Amtgarders who believe in improving the quality of fighting skills (called FWACK). The event is not officially organized by any kingdom, park or regional Amtgard body. The event generally uses Amtgard rules (although some exposure to Belegarth or other systems is also part of the event). Whether you can receive credits or any other Amtgard notice from the event is an issue for local leadership to decide.
The format of the event is that Friday and Saturday are spent in intense class setting teaching. Event attendees sign up for the classes they are most interested in. These classes contain a mixture of lecture, drill and exercise. In between classes students and instructors ditch to practice what they have learned. At SKBC most of your meals will be taken care of and in general the whole event eats together. This provides an ideal environment to seek out more of the instructors in a casual setting and keeps the focus on talking shop as regards foam fighting.
